Hello, and welcome to my blog! My name is Amanda Desourdis and I’m a senior at James Madison University. I’m currently working toward a major in corporate communications and a minor in general communication studies. I’ve become very dedicated to my major and have found it to be the perfect area of study for me.
Over the past few years I have developed an intense interest in effective communication in the corporate world. With the explosion of social media organizations are expected to support and engage with their customers in a completely new way. This is why I’m particularly interested in learning more about the effects social media has on customer service, support and engagement.
Let’s face it, companies must be engaging in new social media to interact with, and provide support to, their customers. As this phenomena has quickly become the norm, it is imperative that companies stay up-to-date and in the know if they want to compete in their industry. Through this blog I will discuss some do’s, don’ts and how-tos of this new social media approach.
